A highly specialized training for learning scientifically supported interview techniques with ample practice opportunities.

This training was developed in collaboration with Elsine van Os from Signpost Six. The combination of her expertise in psychology, scientific knowledge about "insider threats," and practical experience at AGC has proven to be highly successful for this training. Currently, this training is exclusively offered at AGC and is available to commercial companies with forensic and integrity departments, as well as security and safety services. If there is sufficient interest, the training will be open for enrollment starting in the fall of 2024. Additionally, this training is a component of the Non-Verbal Profiler and Investigative Interviewer program based on our developed three-pillar methodology, set to launch in 2025.

Objectives and content of the training:

• Gain insight into the aspects of effective planning and preparation for interviews and conversations.
• Understand various interview techniques, such as the cognitive interview, Scharff technique, timeline technique, validation technique, and others.
• Understand which technique works best for the type of interviewee and the interview setting.
• Understand the role of the digital environment in obtaining information.
• Understand the principle of connection (rapport).
• Improve and enhance skills for obtaining information.
• Increase awareness of your personal interview style and biases.
• Understand the dynamics between the interviewee and interviewer and how to respond to signs of stress, including cultural sensitivities.
• Increase trust and enhance professional development in the interview setting.

A training actor will be present on the morning of day 2 and on the last day.
